2 Services - More Opportunities
August 23rd was our first week of having two services. A significant change for our church, but one that comes with many upsides. One of which is the opportunity for us to engage more deeply on Sunday mornings.
With that in mind, we wanted to send out an email letting you know about the ways your family can be involved and connected beyond just attending the 9:00 or 10:45 service.
Adults
For adults, we are offering groups that will meet during each service.
-First Service has our Bible Group led by Dan Patton and Ethel Haisley. They meet in Room 205 and walk through the Quarterly Curriculum provided by The Wesleyan Church.
-During Second Service, John and Rachael Stark are leading a sermon talkback group meeting in Room 101. This group gives you space to talk through any questions, responses, or ideas you have after listening to the morning’s message.
-Throughout the fall semester, we will have a couple of shorter classes or learning opportunities. We will look at why it matters that we are Wesleyans and how we can continue to grow in our faith with God.
Youth Group
-For those in 8th-12th grade, teenagers are welcome to attend first service and can sit with our youth leaders Lizzie Miller, Sam Dykema, and Dede Person.
-For Second service, our youth leaders will host a Bible study and lesson in our Family Life Center.
Club765
-Eli Gilmore, our Club765 leader, will host a morning group during first service at our Family Life Center.
-For second service, Club765 is invited to sit with Eli in the sanctuary to participate in our worship service.
Kids
KidsLife and Nursery are fully operational for both services. KidsLife will provide 2 separate lessons for each service so that kids can stay in both services and not get repeated teachings.
-The first service will continue to be led and directed by Cindy Robbins.
-Kendall Moss is leading our second service, KidsLife programming, focusing more on large group activity.
We hope these are opportunities for you and your family not just to fill up your schedule but are instead ways we together can encounter God’s transforming love, find support from the people around us, and feel ready and encouraged to be a difference maker in the week ahead.
