DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE

  • Two More Ways to Open Up Faith Conversations - walking relationally with people often takes simple steps. Here are two more ways in addition to previous Discover Your Purpose highlights:
    1. Call Out the Gold - in a world that is often critical and negative, encouragement is radically powerful. When you affirm the gifts and beauty you see in someone - the image of God within them - spiritual curiosity and connection are often built. How to Call Out the Gold: Spot strengths, character traits, kindness, leadership, or compassion in others; speak it out clearly and kindly; frame it in a way that points to their God-given value. Examples might be: "You have an amazing ability to lead others. I think God designed you that way!" "Your creativity is incredible. I can see God’s fingerprints all over your gift."
    2. Ask Open Spiritual Questions - curiosity creates connection. When you ask thoughtful, open questions about someone’s beliefs or experiences, you invite them to explore their own story — and make room for the Spirit to move. Examples of great spiritual questions:
      • "Would you consider yourself a spiritual person?"
      • "What was faith like growing up for you?"
      • "Have you ever had a spiritual experience?"
      • "If God could do a miracle in your life right now, what would it be?"
      • "What do you think happens after we die?"
How to Ask: Be genuinely curious, not confrontational; listen deeply without immediately correcting or debating; ask follow-up questions if they’re willing to share more.
    3. Any effort you make to ask someone to pray for them or call out the gold is planting seeds of the gospel. Pray for opportunities to plant well.
  • Discover Your Purpose 1 Class - What is your great joy and passion in life? How has God uniquely gifted you to make an impact for His Kingdom? This interactive class is designed to help you find your identity in Christ, learn your spiritual gifts, and discover how you were uniquely designed to make a difference in the world. The next class is offered August 3, 11am-1pm at Luedtke’s house (6629 SE 00 W, Jonesboro). Lunch is provided. Sign up with Pastor Amy here by July 31 (limited space available)
  • Discover Your Purpose 2 Class - all new! If you have been through the first Discover Your Purpose Class, then this sequel class is for you! DYP2 promotes a deeper connection with God by teaching rhythms to intentionally set our lives on Jesus. It's about spiritual transformation. As in DYP1, this class will be interactive and discussion-oriented but more meditative in nature. Snacks and a free book are provided for each participant. Sign up with Pastor Amy here for the August 3 2-4pm, class at 6629 SE 00 W, Jonesboro by by July 31 (limited space available).

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Be a Disciple-Maker - who can you bring to church or church events? Who could you do  life with to lead them into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ? As you think of those people, be bold. Tell them your story of what Jesus has done.
